Two Pakistani-origin individuals residing in Canada have been honoured with the prestigious “King Charles III Coronation Medal” for their notable services to the community.

In a distinguished ceremony held in Canada, Member of Parliament (MP) Iqra Khalid presented medals and certificates to Ashraf Khan Lodhi and Najam-ul-Hassan Zaidi.

Ashraf Lodhi is an experienced journalist based in Canada, while Najam-ul-Hassan Zaidi is originally from Nawabshah, Sindh.

During her speech, MP Iqra Khalid explained that the coronation medals were issued to mark the ascension of King Charles III, serving as a significant symbol of this historic event. She further noted that the recipients were honoured for their strong connections to both Canada and the British Crown.

The “King Charles III Coronation Medal” is a Canadian commemorative honour established to mark King Charles III’s coronation on May 6, 2023.

It is awarded to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to British Columbia or their respective communities across Canada.

The recognition of Pakistani-Canadians like Lodhi and Zaidi not only highlights their service but also reflects the growing influence and integration of the Pakistani diaspora within Canadian society.
