Cricket fans across the country and beyond took to Twitter to praise batter Asif Ali for his match winning innings against Afghanistan as he guided Pakistan to their third consecutive win in the ICC T20 World Cup on Friday.
While the run chase proved difficult for Pakistan’s batting line in the second half of the match, we were still able to score a win, one reason being the four sixes Asif Ali hit in an over against Afghanistan.
As is the case with Pakistanis, whenever the team performs heroics, they roll up their sleeves and turn to their meme game. Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja praised Asif Ali for his “incredible hitting under pressure”.
Here are some memes doing the rounds on the internet after Asif Ali’s late blitz sealed Afghanistan’s fate.
