ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia has urged Pakistani Umrah pilgrims and workers to strictly abide by Saudi laws, warning them against begging and other unlawful activities during their stay in the Kingdom.
In a message posted on its official X account, the embassy advised Pakistani citizens to comply with the conditions of their visas, avoid overstaying and refrain from any activity that could constitute a violation of Saudi law.
The message depicts possible consequences of violating local laws, including arrest, interrogation, detention and deportation, and calls upon Pakistani citizens to exercise greater responsibility while in Saudi Arabia.
Embassy urges pilgrims to respect holy sites
The embassy’s message specifically cautioned Pakistani visitors against begging, urging Umrah pilgrims and workers to conduct themselves responsibly and respect the sanctity of the holy sites.
It stressed that visitors should familiarise themselves with and follow Saudi regulations throughout their stay, warning that violations could have serious consequences.
The advisory comes as Pakistan remains one of the largest sources of Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
According to figures previously shared by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, nearly 200,000 Pakistani pilgrims had travelled to the Kingdom during the opening weeks of the current Umrah season, the highest number among all countries.

Some users welcomed the embassy’s intervention, saying that pilgrims and workers should maintain Pakistan’s image abroad by respecting local laws and regulations.
The embassy has urged all Pakistani citizens travelling to Saudi Arabia to act responsibly and remember that compliance with local laws is essential throughout their stay.
