ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary has said that the Pakistani army was being targeted on the name of Pervez Musharraf.
Fawad Chaudhary in a series of tweets claimed that the case of Pervez Musharraf was not the actual matter, it was the Pakistan army who has been targeted with a specific strategy.

Chaudhry wrote, “First, the Pakistan army and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were first dragged in the Faizabad sit-in. Then the extension of the post of Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa was made controversial and now retired general is being humiliated.”

He added, “The sequence of events is not a matter of legal interest and judicial,  it has become more than that. If the army becomes divided or weakened in the country then the anarchy in the state cannot be avoided.”

He further added, “COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other military leaders have always supported democratic institutions but this support should not be considered a weakness or ignorance.”
This week, a special court found Musharraf guilty of high treason under article 6 of Pakistan’s constitution for suspending the constitution when he imposed a state of emergency in November 2007 and sentenced him to death.
