Renowned Pakistani actress and host Javeria Saud has found herself at the center of a social media storm following her appearance at a high-profile fashion event in the United Kingdom.
During the recent Pakistan Fashion Week (PFW) held in London, Javeria took to the ramp to showcase her latest clothing collection. She was joined on the runway by her daughter, Jannat Saud, and film star Sana Nawaz.
For the occasion, Javeria donned a black saree paired with a silver half-blouse and a matching long jacket.

While the ensemble was designed to be a fusion of modern and traditional styles, it quickly drew heavy criticism from social media users back home.
The criticism largely centered on what fans perceived as a contradiction between her fashion choices and her public image in Pakistan.
Many users pointed out her frequent role as a host for Ramadan transmissions, where she typically appears in traditional, modest attire with her head covered.
One disgruntled fan questioned, “Is this the same Javeria who hosts Ramadan transmissions with her head fully covered?”
Another user commented, “We did not expect this kind of choice from Javeria Saud; it feels out of character.”
The Fashion Perspective
Despite the backlash, supporters of the actress argued that the runway requires a different aesthetic and that her outfit was a creative expression of her brand’s “fusion” identity.
Javeria herself has often championed the idea of modernizing traditional Pakistani silhouettes for a global audience.
