The 77th Cannes Film Festival will feature the Pakistani 3D-animated feature film, ‘The Chronicles of Umro Ayyar’, a press release issued on Thursday has revealed.
Ingenuity Productions, a renowned 3D production house, will present its animated creation online at the Cannes Film Market via Marche Du Film’s B2B video-on-demand service Cinando, as stated in the press release.
Haris Basharat, CEO of Ingenuity Productions, expressed excitement about the film’s online debut at the Cannes Film Market, emphasizing its potential to mesmerize audiences with Pakistan’s rich storytelling and cinematic excellence.
Described as an adventure fantasy, the film draws inspiration from the epic tale of Tilism e Hoshruba, following the legendary trickster hero Umro Ayyar as he embarks on a journey through time and magical realms.
However, this isn’t the sole representation of Pakistan at Cannes, nor the only animated feature from the country.
Recent announcements unveiled ‘The Pakistan Crescent Collective’, set to launch during the Cannes Film Festival. Led by Emmy-nominated filmmaker and chairman of the Pakistani Academy Selection Committee, Mohammed Ali Naqvi, this initiative aims to promote Pakistani cinema globally.
