Hassan Nawaz’s fast century helped Pakistan to outclass New Zealand by 9 wickets in the third match of the five-match T20I series on Friday at Eden Park in Auckland.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first in the third match. New Zealand were bowled out for 204 off the fifth ball of the 20th over.
Mark Chapman was the star of the show for New Zealand with 94 off 44 balls. Captain Michael Bracewell scored 31, Ty Seifert 19, Daryl Mitchell 17 and Ish Sodhi 10.
For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 3 for 29 in four overs, Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed and Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets each, while Shadab Khan also took one wicket.
Chasing a target of 205, Pakistan started the innings at a fast pace. Mohammad Haris and Hassan Nawaz batted aggressively from the start of the innings.
Mohammad Haris was dismissed for 41 off 20 balls, after which captain Salman Agha came to support Hassan Nawaz and both of them showed brilliant batting and guided Pakistan to victory.
Pakistan achieved the target by scoring 207 runs in 16 overs. Hassan Nawaz scored 105 off 45 balls and Salman Ali remained unbeaten on 51 off 31 balls.
