ISLAMABAD: A total of 2,462 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country while 49 more have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,491,423 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 29,877 civilians lost their lives to the virus.
In the last 24 hours, 49,553 tests were performed to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 25,896,758. Nationwide, the test result was 4.97 percent, while 1,534 patients were in intensive care.
In the last 24 hours, 4,792 people have beaten coronavirus across the country, bringing the total number of healthy people to 1,388,517. The active cases of the virus are 73,029 while the death rate remains at 2 percent.
The highest number of corona cases were reported in Sindh while deaths were reported in Punjab where 496,724 people fell victim to the virus while 13,390 died. In Sindh, 560,670 cases and 8,000 deaths were reported from coronavirus.

In different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 212,078 people fell victim to corona while 6,153 died. In Balochistan, 35,133 cases of the virus were reported while 371 civilians lost their lives.
In Azad Kashmir, 42,180 people were infected with corona and 773 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 11,250 cases and 189 deaths were reported. In Islamabad, 1,33,388 people were infected with coronavirus and 1,001 died.
