ISLAMABAD: At least 1,517 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while 17 more civilians have died in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 966,007 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 22,469 civilians lost their lives due to the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 46,287 tests were carried out for the diagnosis of coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 148,061,926. The positive result of the virus test across the country was 3.27 percent.
In the last 24 hours, 877 patients were infected with the virus, bringing the total number of healthy people to 99,525. The number of active cases of the virus has risen to 34,013 across the country.
In Punjab province, 347,180 people were affected by corona, 342,228 in Sindh, 138,727 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 27,502 in Balochistan, and 83,155 in Islamabad. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 6,574 people were affected by coronavirus while in Azad Kashmir, 20,641 cases were reported. Coronavirus killed 4,346 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 315 in Balochistan, 781 in Islamabad, 111 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 589 in Azad Kashmir.
It may be recalled that earlier in Karachi, the rate of positive cases of coronavirus was recorded at 10.72 percent in 24 hours. Due to the increase in cases, there was a wave of concern in government circles. A total of 7,082 people were tested for coronavirus in Karachi yesterday, out of which 759 people tested positive for the virus.
