ISLAMABAD: At least 4,191 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while 120 more civilians have died of the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,148,532 people were infected with coronavirus across the country, while 25,535 civilians died of the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 61,306 tests were conducted for the diagnosis of coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 1,75,81,591. Earlier, Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city recorded a high coronavirus test.

A spokesman of the health department said yesterday that the rate of positive cases of coronavirus in Karachi was recorded at 14.11 percent in one day. Meanwhile, 5,867 tests for coronavirus were conducted in Karachi, which resulted in 828 positive cases. Hyderabad, the second-largest city in Sindh, recorded 9.43 percent positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Earlier, the Punjab government refused petrol to those citizens who have not been vaccinated against the virus from September. The district administration of Lahore yesterday put up new banners at petrol pumps under which new restrictions were imposed on those who did not get vaccinated to prevent coronavirus.
