ISLAMABAD: As many as 70 new cases of corona have been reported across the country, with no deaths reported due to the virus in the last 24 hours, however, the condition of 71 patients is critical.
According to figures released by the National Institutes of Health, a total of 1,529,641 people were infected with the coronavirus, and 30,379 died of the virus across the country. The mortality rate remains at 2 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 18,773 tests for coronavirus were performed across the country, with a positive rate of 0.37 percent. The number of tests performed so far has reached 28.428 million while 71 patients of coronavirus are in intensive care.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched a nationwide anti-polio campaign. The prime minister directed the provincial governments to focus on an anti-polio campaign and all stakeholders to work together for the eradication of poliovirus.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Task Force on Polio Eradication, the prime minister said that there was still a challenge of polio across the country which needed to be tackled by all. “I assure all possible help and cooperation from the federal government,” he said.
