Pakistan reports 578 coronavirus cases in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Around 578 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country, while 2 more citizens have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.

According to the statistics released by the National Institute of Health, a total of 15,64,809 people have been affected by a coronavirus, while 30,544 have died due to the virus. The mortality rate remains at 2 percent.

During the last 24 hours, 22,679 tests were conducted for the diagnosis of coronavirus, while the ratio of positive cases was 2.55 percent. The total number of tests was 2,99,4,675 while 159 coronavirus patients are in intensive care.

During the last 24 hours across the country, 371 patients have defeated coronavirus, which has brought the number of recovered people to 15,24,746, while the number of active cases has increased to 9,519. Punjab and Sindh were the most affected by the virus.

In Sindh, 5,92,654 people were affected by coronavirus while 8,217 died. In Punjab, 5,18,993 citizens were affected while 13,595 lost their lives. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the third largest province affected by the virus.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,22,650 people were affected by coronavirus while 6,340 died. In Islamabad, 1,38,560 people were affected by coronavirus while 1,030 died. 4,471 corona cases were reported in Azad Kashmir.

793 people died due to the virus in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. In Balochistan, 35,905 citizens have been affected by coronavirus while 378 have lost their lives. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 11,976 people have been affected by coronavirus while 191 have died.
