Pakistan Railways announce 10 percent reduction in fares

Pakistan Railways on Saturday announced a 10 percent reduction in fares for all passenger trains after the recent cut in fuel prices in the country.

As per detail, the reduction will apply both to economy and AC classes and will be applicable from September 23.

Railways spokesperson said lowering fares will make train travel more accessible and affordable for all citizens, and hope this initiative will benefit our passengers.

It should be noted that petrol and diesel prices have witnessed a significant reduction in the country during the last one and a half months and now the public is demanding a reduction in public transport fares.

Earlier reports indicated that public transport fares were reduced across Punjab following strict government directives in response to the decline in fuel prices. People from other parts of the country are also calling for fare reductions, and there is hope that they will soon see a decrease in both inter-city and intra-city transport fares.
