Pakistan, Japan agree to expand relation in myriad fields

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Japan agreed to expand its relations in myriad fields including infrastructure development, higher education, and cultural and academic exchanges.
The understanding came during a meeting of Prime Minister Imran Khan with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President Shinichi Kitaoka today (Friday).
PM Imran hailed the strong partnership between Islamabad and Tokyo in various sectors and also appreciated Japan’s role as an important development partner.
The Prime Minister underscored the new opportunities and investment available in Pakistan and also pointed out the government’s effort in stabilizing the economy.
He also highlighted the existing goodwill and historic relations between Pakistan and Japan and said, “I am looking forward to welcoming Japanese Prime Minister in Pakistan at earliest opportunity.”
The JICA President briefed PM Imran about on JICA’s economic and technical assistance to Pakistan and highlighted the particular focus of the Agency on health and education sectors.
