The Pakistani government has decided to contact the editor of the British newspaper “The Economist” regarding the publication of an article by former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Information Minister Murad Saeed stated in a statement that today they are in touch with the editor of The Economist about an explicit article written by Imran Khan, which has been published in the newspaper.
It is surprising and concerning that such prominent media outlets have published an article by an individual who is in jail and has already been sentenced.
Murad Saeed mentioned that if a convicted person in jail were free to write for the media, they would always use this opportunity to publish their one-sided complaints.
On Thursday, an international newspaper published an article by the former Prime Minister in which Imran Khan expressed his reservations about the general elections.
He wrote that there is currently no independent Election Commission in Pakistan, and general elections can be a mockery.
