Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have released a special traffic plan for heavy vehicles ahead of the Pakistan Day parade on March 23 in the federal capital.
According to officials, the entry of all heavy vehicles into Islamabad will be restricted from midnight on March 22 until 3 PM on March 23.
Additionally, from 6 AM to 1 PM, Srinagar Highway will remain closed for traffic between Seventh Avenue and Kudiyanwala Chowk.
Authorities have advised motorists heading toward Bhara Kahu to use alternative routes, including Seventh Avenue via Pak-China Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Kashmir Chowk, and Club Road. Traffic disruptions may also occur on Srinagar Highway and the Expressway due to route diversions.
For heavy traffic, alternative routes have been designated:
Vehicles from Peshawar to Lahore should use Taxila Motorway and Fateh Jang Motorway via Tarnol Phatak.
Heavy vehicles from Lahore GT Road to Islamabad and Rawalpindi should opt for Chak Beli Road and Chakri Motorway.
Traffic from Peshawar to Rawat should use Taxila Motorway, Chakri, Chak Beli Road, and Rawat.
Lahore GT Road to Peshawar traffic should follow Rawat, Chak Beli Road, Chakri, and Taxila Motorway.
Islamabad Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Zeeshan Haider assured that ITP personnel will be deployed at key locations to assist citizens.
Commuters can call the ITP helpline (1915) for assistance and tune in to FM 92.4 or follow ITP’s social media platforms for real-time traffic updates.
