ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has completed the delivery of approximately 50,000 tents to Turkey, which were urgently required to support the earthquake-affected areas in the country. This effort was part of an air-bridge operation that began on March 11, 2023, following the directive of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The dispatchment of the tents was concluded with the arrival of the 36th and final plane, which landed in Adana. The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad expressed its gratitude towards the Pakistani authorities, NGOs, and the people of Pakistan for their support and efforts in the successful completion of this operation.
In a statement released here on Tuesday, the Turkish Embassy said in addition to the tents, Pakistan also contributed hundreds of thousands of blankets, tons of clothing and food supplies, medicine, and medical equipment to help Turkey recover from the recent earthquake. This relief effort was carried out through the establishment of swift air, land, and sea bridges.
