ABU DHABI: In a historic achievement for the nation’s sports sector, Pakistani athletes have delivered a stellar performance at the ongoing Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the United Arab Emirates, securing two gold medals and a bronze.
Making their debut appearance in the Masters category of the prestigious tournament, the national squad proved their mettle on the international stage by claiming top honors in their very first outing and hoisting the national flag with pride.
Former Asian champions Abu Hurairah and Muhammad Ammar led the charge, delivering exceptional performances in their respective divisions to secure gold medals in the Masters category.
Adding to the country’s medal haul, the duo of Muhammad Yousuf and Muhammad Umar showcased impressive skill in the Under-21 Duo category, earning a bronze medal for Pakistan.
