Eid al-Adha (the "Festival of Sacrifice") is the second major Islamic festival of the year, honoring Prophet Ibrahim’s (PBUH) absolute obedience to Allah.

Eid al-Adha (the "Festival of Sacrifice") is the second major Islamic festival of the year, honoring Prophet Ibrahim’s (PBUH) absolute obedience to Allah.

Pakistan observed Eid ul Adha on Wednesday with deep religious devotion, nationwide congregational prayers, and heartfelt appeals for peace amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Worshippers gathered in large numbers at mosques and Eidgahs across cities and towns to offer Eid prayers and pray for stability in the Muslim world, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir, according to a statement issued by his office.

His message came as Muslims in Pakistan and around the world celebrated Eid ul Adha, the festival that commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (peace be upon him) willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command. Special prayers were held nationwide, while people performed the ritual sacrifice of cattle.

“Let us remember the underprivileged around us, share the joys of Eid with those in need, and reaffirm our commitment to unity, brotherhood, and service to humanity,” Sharif said in his Eid ul Adha message.

“We also stand in unwavering solidarity with our oppressed brothers and sisters in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

President Asif Ali Zardari also extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan, overseas Pakistanis, and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid ul Adha. In his message, he said the festival teaches that sacrifice is not only a religious obligation but also a profound moral lesson.

Scientifically, this occurs because energy molecules in the muscles, known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate), are depleted after death. ATP is essential for keeping muscles soft and flexible. Due to this energy loss, muscle fibers begin to lock […]
