Pakistan has rejected the suggestion of transferring the people of Gaza, declaring it as unjust, painful, and concerning amid ongoing concerns in the region.
According to national media reports on Thursday, during the weekly briefing at the Foreign Office, spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that we support a two-state solution as desired by the Palestinians, and we back what they want.
The spokesperson condemned the suggestion of transferring the people of Gaza as unjust, painful, and concerning, and demanded that the international community hold Israel accountable for its war crimes in Gaza.
The spokesperson strongly condemned Israel’s atrocities in Gaza, stating that Pakistan’s position on Palestine is very clear; Pakistan stands with the people of Palestine and will continue to support their struggle for self-determination.
The Foreign Office spokesperson mentioned that President Zardari met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang in Beijing, and Pakistan has renewed its support for the One China principle, agreeing to advance China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
As reported earlier, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 47,460, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in January 2025. Additionally, over 111,580 people have been injured since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. Many casualties are still believed to be under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
