Often accused of usurping people’s rights, because of repeated marshal laws, Pakistan army, since long, has emerged in a new role as guardian of democracy, backing civilian governments both in internal and external affairs to help raise the country’s image in the comity of nations.
Its latest and most laudable effort in that direction has been preparation of a dossier on Indian hostility towards Pakistan, which depicts in considerable detail how our ten-time bigger neighbour, was involved in hostile propaganda against our God-given gift in the name of Pakistan, opposing it at FATF, UN, and other international fora, and indulging and backing terrorism within our geographical boundaries, using Afghanistan as the base for its nefarious designs, and trying to foment trouble to destabilize it, through a number of other measures.
The dossier presented at a press conference, jointly addressed by foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and Director General of ISPR, Maj-Gen. Babar Iftikhar, though only a first installment, is nevertheless is backed by solid evidence, collected through enormous efforts, and, which has now been submitted to UN Secretary-General, and sent to other countries.
If India is upset over it, their anger is natural, but such solid evidence which though denied by New Delhi, remains irrefutable. The age-old maxim that facts are invariably different from fiction, and can easily be sifted. So has been the case here. Evidence produced in the dossier is so solid that disputing it will be well nigh impossible.
This again is Pakistan’s major success story as it unmasks the face of Indian government, headed by fascist BJP regime of Narendra Modi, and his Hitlerite supporters of RSS, another extremist group, operating since 1925, but gaining power in recent years because of present Indian government’s arbitrary actions of occupied Kashmir, and the venomous attitude towards Muslims and other minorities in a country, claiming to be secular, but which has unashamedly replaced Gandhi’s “Ahinsa” by “Hindutva”.
The demolition of Babri Mosque, after its condemnable Supreme Court verdict, the Pulwama incident, intrusion into Pakistan from Iran of spy Kubhusha Jadev, still in Pakistan custody, and persistent use of dissidents from the country’s south-western province of Balochistan are few examples of its intent.
India helplessly saw two of its combat aircraft shot down by Pakistan Air Force, one of which fell in Pakistani territory, but its pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, later released by prime minister Imran Khan as a gesture of goodwill, but Indian response continued by negative.
Challenging Indian denial of the substance in Dossier, Pakistan foreign office spokesman said in unambiguous words that “Pakistan categorically rejects the Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ denial of the irrefutable evidence on Indian state sponsorship of terrorism,”.
The dossier “fully exposed that, India has typically resorted to sophistry, obfuscation, and re-fabrication. Bland denials and a regurgitation of an old litany of charges, however, will not change facts,” it explained to the world.
Since 2001, Pakistan has faced more than 19,000 terrorist attacks on its soil and suffered 83,000 casualties, in addition to the economic losses of $126 billion, according to the statement.
The statement further emphasised that India has “mischievously” masqueraded as a “victim” of terrorism and sought to mislead the international community by hypocritically leveling terrorism-related allegations against Pakistan.
Islamabad also exposed New Delhi of conducting “false flag” operations in disputed Jammu and Kashmir, and inside India to “malign” Pakistan. Pakistan’s alertness, and yeomen service done by ISI, counted among the world’s best, lifted the facade from Indian face.
The world can see the real face of India – one blackened by its decades-long state-terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and facts mentioned above. India was reminded that Kulbhusan Jadav’s “complicity in subversion, sabotage and terrorism in Pakistan is part of the incontrovertible evidence against India.”
Pakistan’s dossier, for which ISPR deserved praise, perhaps is a reminder the “The world is familiar with “saffron terror” orchestrated and unleashed by the RSS-BJP zealots against Muslims in India and against Pakistan,” “Masterminds of Mecca Masjid, Ajmer Dargah, and Samjhota Express terrorist cases, like Swami Aseemanand, have been granted full state protection and acquitted in complete travesty of justice after having confessed to India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).”
The presence of Daesh and al-Qaeda in India as highlighted in recent UN reports, it asserted, indicates that India is emerging as a hotbed of UN-designated international terrorist organizations and posing a great risk to the region.
Demanding the UN counter-terrorism bodies proceed on the basis of “concrete” evidence, Islamabad urged the world body to play its part “in dismantling of the Indian terrorist infrastructure, details of which have been provided in the dossier.” New Delhi’s denial lacked conviction. It is now for the world to understand and see through the Indian game against its neighbor.
Hostility towards Pakistan can be easily understood because we being India’s principal challenger is bound to attract Delhi’s focus, but after the recent Ladakh incidents, where India has again reminded the 1962 NEFA lesson, India’s smaller neighbours –Nepal, Bhutan, even Bangla Desh has begun to show discomfort against Indian intentions.
The recent telephonic call from Prime Minister Imran Khan to her Dhaka counterpart Hasina Wajid, did click, and only about a couple of weeks ago, Pakistan High Commissioner in Bangla Desh, called on Sheikha Hasina who looked happy at the meeting, which means that a change of heart is now clearly visible.
The facts about Indian designs in the dossier reminded the world that after uniting the breakaway factions of the TTP (JuA and HuA) earlier this year, India was now trying to create a consortium of TTP with proscribed dissident organisations of Balochistan — BLA, BLF and BRA — which were already united under the banner of BRAS (Baloch Raaji Aajoie Sangar).
Indian intelligence official Colonel Rajesh, who was employed at the Indian embassy in Afghanistan, was the mastermind behind the plan to establish the consortium, he disclosed, showing a letter in Dari which revealed that Col Rajesh had had four meetings with commanders of these terrorist organisations to “synergise their efforts and upscale terrorist activities in metropolitan cities (Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar) in November and December”.
He further revealed that India was trying to form a link in Pakistan with ISIS by creating “Daesh-e-Pakistan”. Thirty of those militants were recently relocated from within India to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border by two Indian intelligence officials where they were handed to Daesh.
The list of Indian hate-Pakistan crime is so lengthy, that circumventing it here in a few words or paragraphs would hardly be enough. The document identified few individuals, masterminds of terrorism, including Malik Faridoon who was involved in the planning of the APS attack, soon went to the Indian consulate in Jalalabad to celebrate. These are just a few examples as details of the dossier have already been made public, but the effort of ISPR needs to be appreciated.
Apart from the linkages between Indian diplomatic missions in Afghanistan, Kabul Jalalabad etc, India also raised a 700-strong militia to sabotage CPEC by carrying out terrorist attacks in Balochistan. “A commission comprising 24 members was created which included 10 RAW operatives [and] $60 million were dedicated to this force.”
Not only, the ISPR or the country’s intelligence apparatus have delivered once again, but the army chief’s frequent visits to China, Turkey, and many other world capitals submit sufficient evidence about the military’s effort to supplement the civilian government role in projecting Pakistan abroad.
The army is now a forceful partner of the civilian administration which lends not only credibility but doubles the job of making the world understand that Pakistan is a victim of Indian State terrorism. Such a combination is commendable in the truest sense of the word. A special word of appreciation is also due to ISPR and the Intelligence apparatus of the country for putting in some very hard labour.
