Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has reduced gas supply to just six hours daily as shortages continue to disrupt consumers, according to an official statement.
The utility announced that gas will now be available in two intervals each day, primarily during breakfast and dinner hours, while afternoon supply will remain suspended due to persistently low system pressure.
The revised schedule aims to ensure that limited gas resources are available during peak demand periods only.
Officials said that the crisis has intensified to the point where providing gas three times a day is no longer feasible. They added that even maintaining supply during the current two time slots is becoming increasingly difficult under existing conditions.
The shortage has largely been attributed to disruptions in liquefied natural gas imports, which have affected the system’s ability to sustain stable pressure levels. As a result, SNGPL has restricted supply hours to better manage demand during high-usage periods.
