KARACHI: One person was killed and three others were injured as a portion of a residential house collapsed at Dua Chowk in New Karachi on Thursday morning.
Rescue teams reached the spot to carry out the relief work. The cause of the incident is said to be a cylinder explosion which resulted in a collapse in a portion of the house. Officials said that three people have also been injured in the incident and moved to a nearby health facility.
SSP Central Arif Aslam Rao said that the four children and parents have been rescued from the debris. He also added that they have no reports of someone else lying beneath the rubble. He said that the explosion had occurred in a 120-yard one-story house.
Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani said that roof of a house in new Karachi collapsed which caused a gas cylinder to burst and a fire erupted. He said that six people were injured in the incident. He said the fire brigade has timely extinguished the blaze, saving precious lives and property.
