KARACHI: The Oil Tankers and Contractors Association has postponed the countrywide strike against the increase in income tax, provincial service, and toll taxes.
After contacting the Petroleum Division, the strike was postponed. The Oil Tankers Association has been assured to convey their legitimate demands to the concerned agencies.
According to reports, a delegation of the Coal Tankers Association will meet on 20th July at the Petroleum Division. A spokesman for the Petroleum Division said that the concerned persons were trying to ensure the delivery of petroleum products.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant for Petroleum had called a delegation of the Oil Tankers Association for talks.
In this regard, responsible sources have told Hum News that the talks will focus on additional income tax, provincial services sales tax, and an increase in toll tax.

Sources told Hum News that implementation of Sindh High Court decision and ban on commercial loading will also be considered in the upcoming talks.
Oil tanker contractors had announced an indefinite strike two days ago. Abid Afridi, president of the Oil Tankers Contractors Association, said in this regard that our problems are not being solved.
He said that increase in income tax is not acceptable in any case. The oil will not be supplied to any sector including planes and petrol pumps during the strike.
