Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on Monday announced that the company has started production from its exploratory well, Bobi Deep-1, located in the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease in Sanghar district, Sindh.
This development was revealed in a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
According to OGDCL, Bobi Deep-1 is currently producing 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD). To accelerate the commercialization of the discovery, the company completed a 1.5-kilometre, 4-inch flowline connecting the well to the Bobi Plant, enabling early production within a short timeframe.
According to the Pakistan’s largest exploration and production company, which holds more than 40% of the country’s awarded exploration acreage and operating across the entire hydrocarbon value chain, the new output will strengthen Pakistan’s domestic energy supply and help reduce dependence on imported oil.
Last week, Mari Energies and OGDCL had begun gas production from recently discovered wells in Dherki and Khairpur, Sindh.
According to Mari Energies, gas from the Shams-1 discovery in Dherki, Sindh, has been added to the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) network. Around 30 million cubic feet of gas per day has been injected into the system.
The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has started gas production from the Suto-1 well located in Khairpur district of Sindh. About 6 million cubic feet of gas per day is being supplied to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) network.
