ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said that it had no objection over decision of lifting former premier Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
During the federal cabinet’s sub-committee meeting, the NAB refused to give an opinion on the issue, saying that the federal cabinet had the authority to remove anyone’s name from the ECL.
Federal cabinet’s sub-committee meeting is underway with Law Minister Dr. Farogh Naseem in the chair to discuss ways to lift former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The government officials in the meeting were of the opinion that a clear answer by NAB was needed before Nawaz could fly abroad as the committee has been discussing an application filed by Shehbaz Sharif seeking the removal of his brother Nawaz’s name from the ECL on humanitarian grounds.
