KARACHI: New Zealand won the toss and chose to field first in the third match of the five-match One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, The match takes place on Wednesday at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
Pakistan, who is currently leading the series with a score of 2-0, is eyeing a series victory in this match. However, New Zealand’s decision to field first could put them at an advantage.
Both teams made three changes to their playing eleven, with Pakistan including Shaheen Afrdi, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim Jnr in their lineup, and leaving no chance for Iftikhar Ahmed. The changes could prove to be significant in deciding the outcome of the match.
Kiwis too made 3 changes, as Milne and Blundell came in alongside Cole McConchie (cap 210) who made his ODI debut. They replace Neesham (ankle), Bowes and Ravindra.
The previous two matches of the series saw Pakistan dominating the Kiwis, winning both matches convincingly. However, New Zealand will be determined to bounce back and register a win in this game to keep their hopes alive in the series.
