Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, is facing intense backlash and legal trouble over controversial remarks made on India’s Got Latent, as reported by Indian media.
According to a report by Times of India, an FIR has been filed against him, and the outrage continues to grow. Amid this controversy, an old video of comedian Kanan Gill has resurfaced, showing him asking a similar question to actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani during the 2015 promotions of Welcome to Karachi.
In the video, Kanan posed the question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it?” Jackky responded with laughter, but Kanan insisted on an answer.
This resurfaced clip follows Ranveer Allahbadia’s viral comment on India’s Got Latent, where he allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question about body parts and proposed an indecent act for Rs2 crore. His question, which sparked massive backlash, was the same one Kanan Gill had asked years earlier.
Reports suggest the question originally appeared on the Australian comedy show Truth or Drink, where host Sammy Walsh asked comedian Alan Fang. Despite similar jokes being made in the past, Allahbadia is facing severe criticism, with cricketers Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh reportedly unfollowing him on Instagram.
Meanwhile, he has approached the Supreme Court seeking relief from multiple FIRs filed against him across various states. His lawyer, Abhinav Chandrachud, son of former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, has requested anticipatory bail and the consolidation of FIRs.
The Guwahati police have summoned Allahbadia, raising concerns about his potential arrest along with others involved in the now-deleted YouTube reality show, hosted by comedian Samay Raina.
