KARACHI: Investigation into the high-profile murder of 26-year-old IBA student and entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali took a major turn on Monday after police retrieved crucial CCTV footage showing suspicious movement at the exact spot where his body was dumped in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
The footage, obtained from a security camera installed directly above the crime scene, has provided investigators with a key temporal link in reconstructing the events surrounding the young businessman’s murder.
Surveillance Reveals Suspicious 20-Second Stop
According to informed police sources, the video recording shows a suspicious motorcycle arriving at the secluded site at precisely 3:36 a.m. on July 29—the day the body was recovered.
The vehicle halted at the exact location for approximately 20 seconds before speeding away.
“The short duration of the stop strongly suggests the site was used as a dumping ground rather than the primary location of the murder,” an investigator privy to the development revealed.
However, forensic experts analyzing the footage stated that due to low ambient lighting and poor night visibility, the exact number of riders and their identities could not be immediately determined. Technical enhancement of the video is currently underway to identify the motorcycle’s registration plate and make.
