ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has orders to reduce electricity tariff by 32 paisa per unit under the head of monthly fuel adjustment.

According to media reports, the Electric power regulatory authority ordered the reduction of power tariff under the head of fuel adjustment for the month of October. However, the new tariff will not be applied to the life-line and K-Electric consumers.
NEPRA said it would release the detailed judgement later.

MM News has learnt that due to merit order violation, an extra burden to the tune of Rs300.36 million was added to consumers. It has also been learnt that the Central Power Purchasing University (CPPA) had requested to cut down the tariff by 25 paisas only, however, after initial examination of the available data, the amount was hiked to 32 paisas per unit.
