The mystery surrounding the theft of jewellery worth over Rs7.8 million from a house has been resolved, with the victim’s nephew found to be involved.
According to a private TV channel, Westridge Police arrested the suspect following an investigation into the recent burglary in Rawalpindi. The accused turned out to be a relative of the affected family.
Police said that during the operation, they recovered the stolen gold jewellery—amounting to 17 tolas—worth more than Rs7.8 million.
Officials revealed that the suspect frequently visited his uncle’s home and had full knowledge of the valuables kept there. He took advantage of the family’s absence to steal the jewellery.
Using technical and human intelligence methods, Westridge Police tracked down and arrested the suspect, successfully recovering the stolen items.
Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan stated that those who target citizens’ lives and property will not escape the law.
