The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched action against individuals accused of spreading hate campaigns and anti-state propaganda online.
The cases have been registered against five individuals: Adeel Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Muhammad Umar, Muhammad Nazir Butt and Ahmed Noorani.
According to the NCCIA, the accused shared false and inflammatory content on social media amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.
The agency stated that these individuals continued to post misleading information targeting state institutions with the intent to create chaos.
A spokesperson for the NCCIA said that anyone trying to create trouble or speak against state institutions will face strict action under the law.
The agency also appealed to the public to help find people involved in anti-state activities online. He further says that citizens are urged to report on social media that harms national security.
