Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif directed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the reservations expressed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the madrassa registration bill.
According to a report by Geo News, the two brothers met at their Jati Umrah residence to discuss the political situation in the country. During the meeting, PM Shehbaz assured Nawaz that Maulana Fazlur Rehman would be consulted on the issue.
PM Shehbaz also briefed Nawaz about his recent trip to Saudi Arabia, providing a detailed report of the visit.
Sources said Nawaz congratulated his brother on recent improvements in the country’s economy, particularly for setting a new stock exchange record. The PM also updated Nawaz on progress regarding foreign investment through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The leaders discussed the political and economic landscape, including the events of November 26 and the possibility of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan calling for civil disobedience. The prime minister also informed Nawaz about the interest shown by Saudi Arabia and other countries in investing in Pakistan.
Both leaders paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
