Though Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan are stern political rivals, but on one point they are on the same page, and this point is interference of apolitical elements in the country politics.
In his recent talk with media in London the three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif categorically held former army chief Qamar Javid Bajwa and former ISI chief Faiz Hameed responsible for the current worst political and economic situation of the country.
On the other side, PTI chief and former prime minister Imran Khan in his statement on Friday blamed that due to Bajwa’s decisions Pakistan is facing the current crisis.
Interference of military establishment in the country politics is not a hidden thing anymore. In the past the establishment has remained involved in making and breaking the governments. It is also an open truth that the politicians were used against each other. And the politicians also allowed apolitical elements to use them against their opponent political party.
In the past, when the establishment was active against Nawaz Sharif and his party, Imran Khan and his party were supporting the establishment in the hostility of their political opponents, and now when the establishment is against Imran Khan and PTI, Nawaz Sharif and his party is supporting it. This is not a mature political approach.
The similarity in the latest stance of Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan showed that they both have realized the actual problem of Pakistani politics. This problem is the interference of apolitical elements in politics and using one political party against the other party.
To stop this drama and to save the country from further damage, every political party must promise the nation that it will not allow anyone to use him against the opponent political party in the future and that it will not play in the hand of apolitical elements anymore.
