In an encouraging development for Pakistan, fast bowler Naseem Shah has made a full recovery from his recent injury and is set to rejoin the squad for their second ODI match against Australia in Adelaide on November 8th.
According to sources, Naseem was a full participant in the team’s latest practice session and is available for selection.
Naseem’s return is a positive boost for the side after he was forced off the field in the first ODI due to cramps. There was growing concern for his participation in the coming game as he was reportedly still dealing with pain after the game.
With his recovery complete, Pakistan is optimistic about going with the same playing XI as in the first game. While no squad changes have been reported, selectors are weighing their options, with the final XI set to be announced after tomorrow’s practice session.
Pakistan’s selection committee, led by Asad Shafiq and including Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, Aleem Dar, and Hassan Cheema, will review the Adelaide pitch conditions before finalizing any changes. Adelaide has been a sore subject for Pakistan with only one ODI win out of eight with the lone victory coming back in 1996.
Australia, meanwhile, has dominated at the ground with their most recent ODI victory there coming in 2017, that too against Pakistan.
