LAHORE: An Anti-Narcotics Court has extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League (N) PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah in the narcotics case till 2nd November.
Judge Khalid Bashir conducted the hearing of Rana Sanaullah, the accused as his 9-day judicial remand ends today.
Special Prosecutor Chaudhry Kashif Javed appeared from the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), while Advocate Azam Nazir Tarar and Syed Farhad Ali Shah appeared on behalf of the accused Rana Sanaullah.
At the beginning of the hearing of the case, lawyer Safi Nazir Tarar argued in the court that there was usually a prosecutor in a case.
He said that whether the case was investigated in accordance with the law, it has become common now that modern devices were being investigated.
He said that during the prosecution, CCTV footage and CDR were made part of the investigation.
Lawyer Safai told the court that Rana Sanaullah’s mobile phone call data record was not submitted.

He requested that the court order the concerned authorities to supply the record of ANF police station to Rana Sanaullah’s Ravi Toll Plaza.
The court adjourned the hearing till 2nd November, extending Rana Sanaullah’s judicial remand for 15 days.
On 1st July, Rana Sanaullah was arrested by the ANF in a narcotics case and the next day a judicial magistrate sent him to jail on judicial remand.
ANF claimed that it had seized a large number of drugs in possession of Sanaullah and lodged a case under section 9 (C) of Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997.
Both sections carry the death penalty, life imprisonment or a jail-term that may extend to 14 years along with a fine up to Rs.1 million.
