LAHORE: Police have arrested social media influencer Nadeem Mubarak, popularly known as Nadeem Nani Wala, after registering a case against him for alleged reckless driving and interference with official duty.
According to police reports, a case was registered at Defence C police station on the complaint of traffic police official Fahad-ur-Rehman. The FIR includes charges of negligent driving and obstructing official duties.
The FIR states that traffic police signaled a black-tinted, unregistered vehicle to stop, but the driver instead sped away, driving against traffic on a one-way road. It further alleges that during the chase, the suspect attempted to hit a police vehicle.
Police say the driver later parked the vehicle in Defence Phase 7 and allegedly continued to threaten on-duty traffic officers. Nadeem Nani Wala is also accused of issuing threats to police personnel during the incident.
Traffic authorities stated that action against illegal number plates, tinted windows, and unauthorized use of blue or green beacon lights is ongoing without discrimination. They added that no leniency will be shown to traffic law violators.
