The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has ordered the freezing of 10,468 commercial plots owned by Bahria Town Karachi after uncovering substantial evidence of corruption.
These directives were issued by Javed Akbar Riaz, the Director-General (DG) of NAB Karachi, following an investigation that implicated Bahria Town, its owner Malik Riaz, and associates Ahmad Ali Riaz, Zain Malik, Shahid Qureshi, Faisal Qureshi, Mohammad Awais, Wasim Rifat, and Waqas Rifat in widespread corrupt activities.
The inquiry revealed that these individuals were involved in illegal practices concerning land acquisition and allotment.

The investigation further uncovered that Malik Riaz and his associates had unlawfully obtained over 16,000 acres of land in Malir through collusion. The Malir Development Authority (MDA) was found to have unlawfully allotted this land, widening the scope of the investigation.
NAB Sindh announced that all commercial plots under Bahria Town’s ownership are now frozen, prohibiting any further transfers or allotments.
