ISLAMABAD: Member of the National Assembly and Chairman Public Accounts Committee Noor Alam Khan has said that taxes are increasing in Pakistan while the poor are barred from basic necessities.
According to the details, while refusing to vote in favor of the mini-budget, the PTI Member of Parliament Noor Alam Khan said while expressing his opinion in the National Assembly yesterday that he has seen that only two people are benefiting in Pakistan.
Noor Alam Khan said that on the one hand, the finance minister has opened his bank while on the other hand, the bag of flour is getting increased from 1200 to 3600. The government does no favors to the people by benefiting the industrialists.
Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan said that the government gives electricity to the officers and the bill is taken from the poor. There is no electricity all day. Rs 60 lakh salary is being paid to the officers. The loan of flood victims is not waived.
The Public Accounts Committee Chairman said that if the government wants to take tax, then take it from the manufacturers. Here taxes are taxes and the institutions that collect taxes are thieves.
The PTI member of the assembly said, “Whether it is dollars, urea, or flour, how is Afghanistan being smuggled? Pakistan is my country. My poor people are deprived of flour and urea, they should get it. The agreement made with the IMF should be brought to the National Assembly.”
Noor Alam Khan said that he will not vote in favor of the mini-budget under any circumstances. Other leaders also expressed their views on this occasion. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Maulana Abdul Kabir Chitrali said that we are geographically independent but financially we are slaves of America.
