LAHORE: Mohammad Hafeez has tested positive for COVID-19 once again after a retest by conducted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Pakistan Cricket Board is mulling disciplinary action against the player for not following quarantine protocol. Hafeez had tested positive for COVID-19 when the board conducted the first round of tests of all the selected players who were chosen to travel England.
Hafeez’s result came positive along with nine other players and an official. However, the very next day the former Pakistani captain posted a tweet with a report from a private medical facility where the result showed that he has tested negative.
However, the board once again tested Hafeez along with nine other players and a member of the management who will be scheduled to visit England in August. Reports of samples of substitutes taken proved that Hafeez was contracted for the virus.
According to a source in the board, the Shaukat Khanum Memorial hospital, which tested the players and officials did a retest of the earlier sample they had taken from Hafeez and it again came positive for COVID-19.
