Coke Studio Pakistan is the longest-running annual television music show, running since 2008 and just like every year, this year too, Coke Studio’s season 15 which kicked off on April 14 has become the talk of the town once again after it released its first song ‘Aayi Aayi’.
Featuring Noman Ali, BabarMangi, Marvi, and Saiban, the Sindhi folk song tells the tale of Tharparkar. Aayi Aayi has drawn an inspiration from such lore; and from the mightiest of hearts, implicitly tied and true to the soil of the Sindh desert.
Many of the social media applauded the song and few even compared it with Ali Sethi’s Pasoori so that it could become the next global hit like Pasoori.
About season 15
Season 15 will feature eleven original songs, reflecting the diversity of Pakistani culture, languages, and genres. Just like season 14, this season is also being produced by Zulfiqar (Xulfi) Jabbar Khan. Moreover, each song in season 15 is a collaboration of a story woven with threads of artistry and fraternity.
Gear up for a legacy of compelling visual storytelling by some of Pakistan’s most progressive directors, including Awais Gohar, Murtaza Niaz, Jamal Rahman, Zain Peerzada, and Luke Azariah, alongside Coke Studio stalwarts Zeeshan Parwez and Kamal Khan.ax
