A medico-legal officer who conducted the initial post-mortem examination of Karachi-based young businessman Mir Raza has undergone more than five hours of questioning in connection with his death.
According to details, the investigation team questioned Dr. Usama, who conducted the first post-mortem examination of Mir Raza’s body, for more than five hours. The questioning focused on various issues, including doubts and discrepancies that emerged during the post-mortem examination.
According to media reports citing sources, Dr. Usama was instructed to continue assisting investigators in the Mir Raza murder case.
Meanwhile, Jibran Nasir, the lawyer appointed by Mir Raza’s father, has written a letter to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah against members of the previous investigation team.
In his letter, Jibran Nasir urged the Sindh chief minister to remove and suspend the police officers who were part of the previous team from sensitive positions until the investigation is completed. He argued that despite the formation of a new investigation team, the case still appears to be revolving around the earlier suicide theory.
Nasir said an independent inquiry was needed into the alleged negligence of the previous investigation team and alleged irregularities in the investigation record. He called for an investigation against the DIG East, SSP SIU, SSP East, and other police officers.
Jibran Nasir also proposed that the Sindh chief minister personally supervise the investigation.
