ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that the Main Line-I (ML-I) project will be achieved under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
While speaking in a meeting of the National Assembly’s standing committee for Planning, Asad Umar talked about the second phase of the CPEC that nature such plans will begin in CPEC’s phase II.
Umar in this regard said that many Pakistani companies have started joint ventures with China in agriculture research.
About 90 percent of work on these goals will be performed by provinces of the country, Umar added.
He earlier said that the betterment of Karachi was the foremost priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Sindh local government did not meet the requirements of the constitution, he added.
He said, “Karachi needs a government that has administrative financial and political powers,” adding, “Karachi needs effective local government to stands on its feet.”
