KARACHI: Investigators probing the mysterious death of 25-year-old entrepreneur and IBA graduate Mir Raza Ali are reported to have achieved a major technical breakthrough after obtaining a crucial audio recording of the victim.

During ongoing questioning of individuals linked to Mir Raza’s business and financial transactions, police sources confirmed that a key witness handed over a recorded audio message from the deceased detailing pending monetary settlements.

Transaction Specifics: In the audio clip currently being analyzed by forensic experts, Mir Raza is heard discussing payment arrangements and proposing a settlement structured into three separate cheques of Rs 10,000 each.

Evidentiary Value: The investigating team has formally incorporated the recording into the case file as material evidence to map his final commercial dealings and verify claims regarding financial disputes.

Original Medical Board Restored; Exhumation Set for 11 AM Today

Following a brief standoff that saw the exhumation postponed due to parental objections over an unannounced overnight board overhaul, Sindh health authorities yielded to legal petitions and restored the original court-sanctioned eight-member medico-legal board.

Karachi Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed—who originally raised 14 critical objections to the initial flawed autopsy—will serve as convener.

EXHUMATION SCHEDULE (SATURDAY)

  • 10:30 AM: Board members gather at PECHS Graveyard (Ferozabad P.S. limits)
  • 11:00 AM: Proceedings commence under Judicial Magistrate Karachi East
  • Supervised by: Civil Judge / Judicial Magistrate, SSP East, IO, and SHO Ferozabad

Case Background & Key Milestones

Disappearance & Discovery: Mir Raza vanished early on July 28 after leaving his PECHS residence in a ride-hailing taxi. His decomposed body, bearing a fatal gunshot wound to the chest, was found two days later in bushes in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

Autopsy Controversy: While police initially pointed toward suicide, Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed identified severe deficiencies in the first autopsy, including unexamined bullet trajectories, missing X-rays, and lack of gunshot residue testing.

Family Stand: Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain Ali, vehemently rejected suicide theories, pointing out head injuries, stripped skin on his son’s palms, missing bullet casings, and CCTV evidence showing suspicious motorcycle riders at the site.

Investigative Scope: Authorities have examined digital footprints, recovered Mir Raza’s missing mobile phone, and recorded statements from 18 individuals, including guest house personnel, business partners, and close associates.

The court-ordered re-autopsy and forensic collection conducted by the restored board today are expected to provide definitive physical evidence regarding the cause and nature of Mir Raza’s death.
