LAHORE: The Lahore High Court will resume hearing a petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawazin the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case on Thursday.
The hearing will be summoned by the Justice Baqir Najfi. The court, while directing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to complete their arguments on the next hearing, adjourned the hearing till today.
In yesterday’s hearing, Maryam Nawaz’s counsel completed his arguments in her bail plea.

In the petition filed in the LHC, Maryam has raised objections to her arrest. The appeal stated that she was being subjected to political revenge and that the NAB could not found single evidence against her.
Maryam requested the court that she must be released on interim bail till the verdict over her final bail in the case.

She was arrested by the NAB in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case on 8th August along wither her cousin Yousaf Abbas.
According to the data revealed by the NAB, Sharif Family had used Chaudhry Sugar Mills for money-laundering and illegal transfer of its shares.

It was revealed during the inquiry that a $15 million loan was taken on the pretext to set up the mill despite the fact that it had already been established before the loan was taken. The loan was never transferred to Pakistan as shown by the record of the State Bank of Pakistan.
