DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif confirmed in an emergency press conference that as a result of 24 airstrikes carried out by India late last night on six different areas of Pakistan, 8 Pakistani civilians have been martyred while 35 have been injured.
Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar was also present with him at the press conference. The spokesperson for the Pakistan Army stated that according to initial reports, two civilians are still missing, and the search for them is ongoing.
In the Kotli area of Azad Kashmir, during an attack on Masjid Abbas, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were martyred, while a woman and her daughter were injured.
In the city of Muridke in Punjab, another mosque was targeted, where one citizen was killed and one injured, while two people are missing. A total of four different attacks were carried out in this city, including severe damage to a residential quarter.
In Kotli Loharan area of Sialkot, one shell failed to explode while another fell in an uninhabited area; fortunately, no casualties occurred there.
Two Indian attacks in Shakargarh damaged a local dispensary. In the Shahiwali area of Muzaffarabad, seven airstrikes were carried out, in which Masjid Bilal was destroyed and a young girl was injured.
The highest number of casualties occurred in Ahmadpur East, where four attacks on Subhan Mosque resulted in the martyrdom of five citizens, including a three-year-old girl. These attacks also damaged the mosque and four homes, while a total of 31 people were injured, including six women.
DG ISPR termed this attack as Indian military aggression and stated that Pakistan reserves the right to take all possible retaliatory measures to protect its territory and citizens.
