Memon calls for Covid like social distancing in Sindh: But why?

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has issued a caution regarding the worldwide proliferation of influenza, which includes cases in Pakistan, and has urged the public to adopt necessary safety measures.

During a press conference on Saturday, Memon emphasized the significance of practicing social distancing, similar to the protocols established during the COVID-19 pandemic, and recommended that citizens wear masks to reduce the risk of virus transmission.

In response to escalating health concerns, the Sindh Health Department has disseminated an advisory about the H1N1 virus.

This advisory advocates for increased surveillance across various districts in the province, including Karachi, and mandates that all hospitals promptly report any suspected or confirmed cases.

Furthermore, the health advisory stipulates that personal protective equipment (PPE) be provided to personnel at government hospitals, and all hospitals are required to submit weekly reports to facilitate effective monitoring of the situation.

These measures are designed to manage the outbreak and safeguard public health.
