Reports indicated that the room where he was staying was set on fire. His son and driver, who were also in the house, attempted to save him. His son, in particular, tried to protect his father from the flames and sustained injuries in the process.
His family has demanded a thorough investigation into the fire incident and a post-mortem examination of his body.
Dr. Akash was born in Badin district on December 25, 1956. He was imprisoned during the rule of former dictator Zia-ul-Haq for his revolutionary poetry. News of his passing has deeply saddened people across the province.

After the CM’s directions, SSP Hyderabad has formed a five-member investigation committee to probe the death of Dr. Aakash Ansari.
The inquiry committee has been formed under the chairmanship of SP HQ Masood Iqbal. DSP Baldia SHO Bhatai Nangar, Inspector Tahir Khanzada, and SHO Baldia are included in the committee.
