Commuters on Baloch Colony Bridge and Shahra-e-Faisal on Thursday faced major disruptions today due to a tragic incident that claimed a man’s life. A speeding oil tanker overturned onto his car near the Baloch Colony pull in Karachi.
Rescue sources reported that a crane was used to extract the car trapped beneath the tanker. The deceased, Asad, was transferred to Jinnah Hospital.
Fire Officer Zulfiqar confirmed the success of the rescue effort and stated that the district administration has been notified to remove the oil from the damaged tanker. However, the tanker cannot be moved until it is emptied.
The tanker continues to leak kerosene oil, increasing the risk of further mishaps.
Office workers are facing significant inconvenience due to the closure of both tracks on the Baloch Colony pull, with alternative routes being used for traffic moving towards the Korangi Industrial Area.
Despite police warnings to avoid the area, some individuals have started collecting the spilling kerosene oil in bottles and containers.
