LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz is expected to remain on the Exit Control List (ECL) in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
The move came after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a letter written to the federal government recommended to put the name on the PML-N leader on the ECL.
Maryam has been granted an exemption from an appearance by the Accountability Court in Lahore as she wanted to travel abroad to meet her ailing father but due to her name being placed on the no-fly list related to other cases, she had been barred from traveling abroad.
Moreover, the Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear her plea over removing her name from the ECL tomorrow.
LHC judge Justice Tariq Abbasi will conduct the hearing of Maryam Nawaz’s plea in which the court will decide whether to permit the PLM-N leader to travel abroad or not.
Maryam Nawaz filed a petition in the previous month in which she requested the court to direct the federal government to remove her name from no-fly list to enable her to travel abroad where her father and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was seeking medical treatment.
